It is Policy
that Consultants working on behalf of the Company
(Systems Projects Limited) shall abide by this
Code of Practice at all times in respect of their
work as a Consultant and acting on behalf of the
Company.
1. Aims
The aims of the code of conduct are:
a) To ensure the provision of high quality, professional
advice and guidance to meet the needs and support
the development of client organisations.
b) To uphold and advance the good standing and
reputation of Systems Projects Limited.
c) To promote the value to clients of using Systems
Projects Limited and ensure the delivery of high
quality and professional advice and services.
2. Conduct & Ethics
In order to discharge the duties and responsibilities
of Systems Projects Limited, Consultants are required
to use and apply appropriate skill and judgement
and to exercise high standards of professional
and ethical behaviour.
In particular Consultants acting on behalf of
Systems Projects Limited shall:
a) Act to meet client requirements and seek and
act on feedback received on his or her performance.
b) Have due regard for and promote equal opportunities
and fair practice in their assignments and in
their actions.
c) Maintain high standards of personal conduct,
courtesy, integrity, honesty, loyalty, fairness
and project and financial management.
d) Decline any discounts, commissions or gifts
as an inducement to show favour to any person
or body in any way connected with the assignment.
e) Refrain from enticing or inviting any employee
of the client to consider alternative employment.
f) Declare to the client (or prospective client)
any existing or known conflict of interest prior
to undertaking any assignment and refrain from
undertaking other assignments which may create
a conflict of interest with an existing client
without gaining that client's prior written approval.
3. Standards
In relation to working with clients or prospective
clients, Consultants acting on behalf of Systems
Projects Limited shall:
a) Ensure that all relevant assignments are subject
to written agreement with the client. Such agreements
shall include details of the scope and nature
of the services to be provided, how progress reports
will be given, the basis and amount of any remuneration,
the measurement of outcomes and arrangements for
client feedback.
b) Only undertake assignments for which they are
suitably qualified, experienced and deemed competent
to carry out the work.
c) Have due regard for, and comply with, all current
legislation and relevant law and applicable codes
of conduct, including any relating to equal opportunities,
health and safety, fraud and contract law.
d) Have due regard for and comply with any guidelines
and standards issued from time to time by the
Company relating to the delivery of advice.
e) Hold all information concerning the affairs
of a client gained during an assignment in the
strictest confidence unless and to the extent
that the client has given written permission for
such information to be passed to a third party.
f) Ensure that all consulting personnel and/or
sub-contractors working for them are suitably
qualified, experienced and competent, that they
comply with all applicable codes.
g) Plan for and carry out an annual programme
of professional development in order to ensure
that knowledge and skills are kept up to date.
